In any business it's important to be patient. As a wedding photographer I need to be very patient in waiting for couples to contact me but at the same time I need to be active. This includes posting blog updates and to social medias. It's easy to get frustrated in a business if you're not making as much money as you'd like but first you need to be patient and thankful for the business that you have. It's in being patient and thankful that more money will come to you, not that it's all about money. First you need to enjoy what you do. I love photography and photographing people and weddings. It's the couples that I meet and the ability to capture their love for each other that I really enjoy. I've been photographing weddings for over 10 years now and I've always been patient in waiting for newly engaged couples to contact me. Here's a quick vlog update that I put together the other day talking about being patient. I watched the New England Patriots playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars where I had to be very patient. Above is a picture of Steven Spielberg at a wedding I photographed in 2007 in New Haven Ct when he was filming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on the Yale University Campus. It was tough to be patient during this wedding because I was super excited to meet him but I had a job to do.
