Going back to my post from the other day where I said cameras are just tools and I need them to do my job successfully. My best photography purchase would have to be my Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS lens. This was one of the first lenses I purchased and I spent over $1500 on it. Canon has since released a version 2 of this lens that I'd like to eventually pickup but the version one has done me just fine in my 11 years of service. Why do I love this lens? It gets me close to the action with being at a distance and unobtrusive. I use it for about 20 percent of my images at weddings where I use the Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L II lens for about 75 percent of my shots and my Canon 100 2.8 Macro lens for 5 percent. I'd say it's my best purchase with my wide angle lens coming in second. Another great purchase I made were the umbrellas I shot into for the Aaron Lewis Gibson Guitar photoshoot. Without those umbrellas, the shoot would not have gone as smoothly as it did.
