Now if you asked me before opening weekend if I thought The Little Mermaid would do well I would have given you a 58% yes. I was teetering towards a smash hit. The reason I wasn’t 100% is because some of Disney’s films lately have been lackluster but I am mostly referring to the straight to Disney+ films. Now this film, what’s not to love. The Ocean, Mermaids, Romance. It’s got all of that and more. Now I haven’t seen the film just yet but with all this amazing praise, it’s one I’m now excited for. This is just opening weekend so it will definitely gross much more than that.
